Iona Roisin

AFTER A STILL FROM I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE

to enter the room
of that raw-red carpet
i pause–

i do not falter on the wounding
or the earth-dragged limbs
i do not slo-mo the fuck

paper strewn
like a divination
of breach

like her narrative
ripped up in mockery,
again

chair tipped over
table turned

if to clean is to undo
then i will polish
one blink in 24
until it reflects
back at me

an angel with limited means

drawing the brown curtain
for a crumb of privacy
locking the door

i fan embers, all spiteful
to decimate the leather
of his boots more fully

it is my turn

while she gathers herself
pre-pounce
